I discovered this by accident. I was making baked apples and I over cooked them so they were kind of mushy. I figured out that if I mashed them up with my fork it made the best tasting apple sauce I have ever had!
Ingredients:
Apples- I use Granny Smith
1 TBSP splenda for each apple
1/8 tsp cinnamon for each apple
Directions:
Peel apples and cut them into about 8 pieces each
toss with splenda and cinnamon
bake covered for 40 minutes at 375
let cool then mash with a fork
this tastes awesome warm or cold and it keeps well in the fridge. It is fast becoming my favorite after dinner snack.
Due to the apples being cooked, it makes this 1.5 syns.
Is that per apple?x
ReplyDeleteI was intending to swap oil for unsweetened applesauce for a cake recipe, do you think this home made SW applesauce would work for that?
ReplyDeleteFor apple sauce I peel cut up and cook in microwave till soft (cooking apple ) bit of water before cooking. No sugar just as it is for meat etc. Is there syns in this ?
